Special Recognition of our Good Friend & Affordable Housing Champion Fred Copeman

We at the Housing Advisory Group are very sad to hear of the passing of our good friend and affordable housing champion, Fred Copeman.

Fred has been an integral fixture in the affordable housing arena for over 30 years.  He was engaged in almost every substantive policy discussion since the inception of the LIHTC in 1986.  He has also been a friend and mentor to countless members of the affordable housing community.

Fred’s professional tenure included 23 years at Ernst & Young, seven years at CohnReznick and the past four years at Boston Financial.  No matter his affiliation, he was always available to lend his expertise to anyone seeking advice on technical and policy questions.  He was also instrumental in helping to draft policy proposals that have benefited affordable housing preservation, production and regulation.

Fred’s jovial presence will be missed on AHTCC and ACTION Zoom calls as well as our annual HAG meeting. We express our sincerest condolences to his family and former colleagues at Boston Financial and CohnReznick.

“May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. “May the wind be always at your back.”
